Who We Are
Established in 2007, Southgate Productions primarily focuses on Casting (Theatre/TV), Talent Consultation (TV), Actor Seminars/Coaching (US/Canada) and Theatre Production. Duncan Stewart is the Executive Director with with Associate, Benton Whitley.
Southgate Productions is contracted by the National Artists Management Company where Duncan acts as the Director of Casting. Southgate Productions is also contracted by the Canadian/UK TV production company Cineflix International, to provide talent consultation for numerous television projects now under development. Cineflix is an international group of companies that produces, acquires and distributes original non-fiction, multi-genre television programming.
DUNCAN STEWART (Executive Director)
Duncan acts as the Director of Casting for National Artists Management Company. In this capacity, he is responsible for casting the current Broadway revival of La Cage Aux Folles (starring Kelsey Grammer) as well as the Broadway, London and International touring companies of Chicago The Musical and all other projects for legendary Broadway producers Barry and Fran Weissler. Other credits include the West End Premiere of Neil LaBute's Fat Pig (ATG co-production) and numerous productions at Playwrights Horizons, Huntington Theater, Long Wharf, Coconut Grove and the pilot for "Knights of Prosperity" w/ Mick Jagger (ABC).Upcoming projects include CluelessThe Musical, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (West End).
BENTON WHITLEY (Associate Casting Director)
Benton is the Associate Casting Director with Southgate Productions. Benton also serves as the Associate Casting Director for the National Artists Management Company, where along side Duncan Stewart he casts the current Broadway revival of La Cage Aux Folles (starring Kelsey Grammer) and the Broadway, West End, and International Tours of Chicago The Musical. Previously he helped cast Terrence McNally's world premiere of Golden Age at The John F. Kennedy Center, and the 2009 Broadway revival of Ragtime. Benton is a proud graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts and the University of Michigan Musical Theatre department.
